"Receiving this nomination means more than recognition, it’s a moment to pause and take a breath, to realize that all the small, steady ways I’ve shown up are creating something meaningful. The work I love most rarely fits a title. It’s connecting people to each other, to causes, to belonging in Oklahoma City. Through the OKCYP referral group, I’ve deepened my knowledge of local organizations and found joy in building bridges between them and others who can help them grow. I help friends find weekend volunteer spots, introduce new faces to the nonprofits that light me up, and host Essential Conversations (which is my way of gathering all my networks into one room to talk about what’s happening in our city and how we can support its growth). From hosting Northwest Chamber coffees and helping organize OKCYP events to launching “Humans Meeting Humans” as an open-door space for connection, everything I do comes down to people. Their ideas, their stories, their willingness to keep showing up. This nomination reminds me I’m on the right path: helping others find their place in this vibrant, evolving city I’m lucky to call home."
